Aero Club of PA -- Home

The Aero Club of Pennsylvania was organized in December, 1909 in Philadelphia for the purpose of "educating the public on matters of aeronautics". This goal remains intact as we organize aviation-related seminars, presentations and field-trips. We also sponsor an annual Wright Brothers dinner and a scholarship dinner. Most importantly, we award aviation scholarships.

Annual Scholarship Awards Dinner
The Aero Club of Pennsylvania along with the Eastern PA Chapter of the 99's will host their annual Scholarship Awards Dinner on June 14 at the Philadelphia Aviation Country Club in Blue Bell, PA. Reservations will be available by late May.

Visit to Reading.
The Aero Club of Pennsylvania visited the Mid-Atlantic Air Museum at Reading Regional Airport on Saturday, April 14. The museum is refurbishing a number of aircraft, including a rare "Black Widow" P-61 fighter that was recovered by the museum from a mountain in Indonesia. After our visit, many of us ate lunch at Malibooz Restaurant on the field.

Air & Space, Udvar-Hazy Bus Trip, October 22, 2011
The Aero Club of PA visited to the Air & Space museum's Udvar-Hazy Center at Dulles Airport. We departed in the early morning aboard a large motorcoach and arrived back in the evening hours. The visit included a behind-the-scenes tour by Ken Hyde of the "Wright Experience." Details Here.

Wright Brothers Dinner
The Aero Club of Pennsylvania held it's annual Wright Brothers Dinner on Saturday, December 17, 2011. Our special guest speaker was Jane Gardner Birch who told us about the Civilian Pilot Training Program before and during WWII. Proceeds benefit the Aero Club Memorial Scholarship Fund. Details Here.

The Aero Club has teamed up with Airways, Inc (JoePilot.com) to offer an online pilot shop to benefit the Aero Club Scholarship Fund. A generous portion of the profit made through the link on this web site will go directly to the Scholarship Fund. More details....
